Rathdown School recognises the importance of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities for all our students. With this in mind, we have designed a programme offering a varied range of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities which provide a mix of sporting and creative opportunities for our students from Pre-School to P6. Participating in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities is an excellent way for children to extend their skills and experience new activities.

Our ballet classes concentrate on ballet techniques as well as balance, grace, and strength. The girls will work on posture and body alignment while developing strong muscles. Ballet gives a foundation of life skills: it builds physical health, confidence and discipline, it provides intellectual stimulation – and it’s fun!

A firm favourite now with everyone, our Forest School programme will be conducted by Philipp Hermann, founder of Beach School Ireland. Using our own grounds with their extensive nature, Philipp will take the children on adventures exploring, creating and learning in all weather. Raincoats and wellies are recommended!

Our Head of Sport in the Junior School, Mr. McGee, has devised this multi-sport programme specifically for our Pre-school classes.

This club run by our Pre-School staff will take the children on a creative journey exploring the world of STEM – science, technology, engineering and maths alongside art and creative activities.

The success of Playball does not start and end with development of motor skills but rather lies in its approach. At Playball your child will be coached positively and encouraged to develop life skills which will improve self-image.
