Stem Activities weeks
Our Aim is that we will be to expand the week long SFI events to actual week long events in the school with all classes involved.
This year we had active Astronomy week, Science weeks and a very busy Engineers week.
And will have 2 speakers during May. Una Halpin will be here for Bio-Diversity week.
This year P2 and P3 had a zoom classes with Blackrock Observatory about Meteors and moon rocks. They had a number of samples and all were checked for magnetic qualities. Eric our groundsman has a number our meteoric rocks he has bought and found over the years. P2 class went on a rock scavenger hunt on school grounds.
We are reviewing the possibility of putting up a stem award for a STEM student similarly to awards the school has for sports etc.
